What to Expect When Hiring with Indigo

If you're considering working with Indigo, you're in the right place to learn about our simple and streamlined hiring process. Below, I’ll walk you through each step in detail to address any questions you may have. If anything remains unclear, feel free to reach out via email—I’m here to help!

Step 1: Sign a Letter of Intent

To get started, we ask that you sign a simple Letter of Intent (LOI). This non-binding agreement confirms your interest in hiring dental assistants through Indigo, with no cost or commitment attached. Here’s what the LOI covers:

  • Your interest in hiring Indigo-trained dental assistants. This helps us plan our training efforts effectively.
  • Your understanding of our hiring terms and conditions. The LOI reassures us that you’ve reviewed our pricing and terms for potential hires.
  • Contact information for your hiring decision-maker. This ensures we know who to coordinate with at your company.

Once the LOI is signed, we’re all set to move forward together!

Step 2: Hosting Opportunities

Our dental assistants excel because they train in a clinical office, not just a classroom, gaining real-world experience. Training sessions are held on weekends when the host office is closed, so there’s no disruption to your operations. We manage everything, leaving your office just as we found it, ready for business on Monday.

As a potential host office, you have the unique opportunity to see Indigo candidates in action before hiring them. Here are some key benefits:

  • Familiarity with your office: Dental assistants trained in your office will already know your layout, equipment, and procedures, making for a smoother transition when they start.
  • Enhanced vetting: We often hire an experienced dental assistant from your staff to be an assistant instructor during our training sessions. This not only supplements their income at no cost to you but also allows you to observe and evaluate potential hires over the 12-week training period, like a working interview.

There is no requirement to be a host office to hire from Indigo, but many host offices end up hiring more assistants than they initially planned, thanks to their firsthand experience. Rest assured, Indigo maintains full insurance coverage for the use of your practice, ensuring a seamless and risk-free experience.

Step 3: Customized Training

A custom-fit approach always yields better results. At Indigo, we offer the option to customize training for your specific needs—this can be particularly beneficial for larger DSOs.

Hiring new staff often requires significant time and resources to bring them up to speed. Imagine partnering with an organization that not only provides qualified candidates but also handles all onboarding training before they start. This means your new hire is ready to add value from day one, making your team more productive and satisfied.

Whether it’s familiarizing them with your practice management software, equipment, or specific procedures, we can tailor the training to fit your needs. This upfront investment can reduce turnover and make your workplace a happier, more efficient environment.

We’ll work closely with you to identify your training needs and can adjust over time if new requirements arise.

Step 4: Planning Your Hiring Needs

Most practices approach us with immediate staffing needs, and we’re often able to fill positions quickly thanks to our ongoing training sessions. For larger DSOs, we can offer a recurring solution, training and placing new dental assistants across multiple locations throughout the year. We can also help you plan for future staffing needs, such as retirements, maternity leaves, or expansions.

At this stage, we’ll meet with your HR team to finalize a hiring agreement.

Step 5: Interviewing and Hiring

Our dental assistants are motivated professionals looking to make a difference in their careers. We’ll coordinate interviews based on your specific needs and can even arrange for someone from your team to visit our training sessions to introduce your company—this is a great way to build excitement among potential hires.

We’ll post your job openings within our system, targeting our current trainees and graduates. You can also specify candidates you’ve identified during their training. Once you’re ready to extend an offer, we’ll finalize the hiring plan, covering costs, payments, and any additional training or onboarding you require.
